About the author
I write under the name Penelope Knayme and live on the east coast of North Carolina, where I spend my days as a tax accountant and my nights chasing stories. I’m a lifelong dreamer who has dabbled in countless hobbies (usually with mediocre results), but writing is where I’ve truly found my home. I’m neurodivergent and tend to move at an obnoxiously fast pace, a trait I’ve learned to embrace as my greatest superpower.
I had always wanted to write, but found myself saying, ”Someday”. In late 2025, I finally turned “someday” into today with the publication of my debut novel, The Last Petal, a dark paranormal romance released by Crooked Circle Press that explores themes of justice and temptation. Since then, I’ve taken invaluable reader feedback and poured it into my newly completed manuscript, The Peculiar Party on Pineapple Court, a contemporary romance scheduled for release in 2026.
I’m also currently in the process of publishing Of Dragons and Lies, the first book in a planned fantasy trilogy with Crooked Circle Press, anticipated for early spring 2026. Geared toward the NA and YA space, this series has allowed me to tap into a deeper and more expansive well of creativity.
While romance is where I started, I don’t believe in staying inside one box. I’m drawn to fantasy, humor, and stories of self-discovery, and I’d rather explore the whole galaxy than limit myself to a single genre.
At home, I share an exceptionally ordinary, and deeply cherished, life with my husband, two children, and our dog. I may write characters who live extraordinary lives on the page, but I’m endlessly grateful for the quiet magic of my own.
